Handling rejection
I have got used to it now and it does not spoil my days as it used to. Still a rejection is a rejection and it makes me feel very bad.
First it was my account of an encounter with an interesting person. I thought and still do think that it is a good piece but the editor of the monthly magazine thought that it had no developments and so it petered down.
Then it was a manuscript of a book. The commissioning editor commended me on my hard work, writing style and effort but no, the work did not suit his publishing programme. Actually, the topic of the book is old but has a shortage of reading matter. Perhaps my style of writing is heavy and very academic.
Moral of the story: study the market, choose a new topic and write in a reader friendly manner in order to get published.
